This blog is about my birding exploits, which mainly take place in the Weymouth/Portland area, in Dorset. Will also include stuff from elsewhere, plus some other critters too. Hope you enjoy. Snow Bunting Revisited

Went back to Ferrybridge to look at the Snow Bunting again and get some better shots. It was wonderfully tame and was just excellent.

Alert to the danger. On this occasion, it was a Peregrine.

Oh yeah, that's the spot.

Yeah, just there.

Hang on a minute, do you hear that?

Nearby, on the edge of Portland Harbour, 2 Black Redstarts were almost as confiding.

This evening, had a mad dash over to West Bay to check out a report of a Wheatear species. Sadly, it was just a Northern Wheatear, but it was the first Wheatear I'd ever seen in December.

Just loving your photos, that little snow bunting is so cute as it grooms its feathers. Thanks for sharing these. I'm in Chickerell, but with a dodgy knee, not able to get out much for birdwatching, though I'm only an amateur.
