This blog is about my birding exploits, which mainly take place in the Weymouth/Portland area, in Dorset. Will also include stuff from elsewhere, plus some other critters too. Hope you enjoy. All photographs are © Brett Spencer, unless indicated otherwise. The above image is of a Siberian Rubythroat, taken in Holland in 2016.

The Usual Stuff

Not much to report from me today. Went around Lodmoor, where the highlight was a Bittern. Ended up on The Fleet at Littlesea, where the highlights were singles of Slavonian Grebe, Black Brant and Black Redstart.

Unfortunately, this Bittern at Lodmoor was always flying away from me.

The Slavonian Grebe on The Fleet at Littlesea. A good bird for this site, though sadly, it was always very distant. It's 11 o'clock from the buoy, if you're struggling to see it.

And now for some common stuff.

A pair of Teal at Lodmoor.

Lapwing at Lodmoor.

Female Stonechat at Littlesea, The Fleet.

Male Blackbird at Littlesea, The Fleet.

Magpie at Littlesea, The Fleet.

The 10km square photo year list moves on to 38.
