Up Close And Personel

With the wintering Scandinavian Herring Gull at Radipole Lake yesterday.






Here with a 1st-winter North West European Herring Gull in the background.

A couple of distant flight shots, but how distinctive it looks, don't you think?

Hello Brett, is possible to explain what make this a Scandinavian herring gull as I have never seen one and Iam getting interested in gulls but find them very complex species

Many thanks I have been looking at the gulls and can now see the difference hopefully one day I will be able to find one.
Just like to say your pictures and explainiton of the birds on your blog are very helpful.
